Same Playbook, Cold Reviews
Barely a week after getting HIS 787 billion dollar “stimulus package” which already 324 economists agree is a ‘bad’ idea. Obama is outright dismissing anyone else’s ideas but his. Not just a few rogue basement ‘neo cons’ mind you but hundreds worldwide who are renowned in their field. Alas I guess it doesn’t matter though, just like 650 valid scientist who stand up and say global warming is a hoax but are drowned out by the engines of fear this Obama train is pulling out of the station using the same tracks and the ‘debate is over’.
Unlike the Kyoto Protocol we had no champion to veto this mammoth spending spree and now we may have to depend on Russia. (Obama looks as if he favors such a treaty). Obama seems happy with his new found power and is flaunting it in grand elitist style. What’s next for the democrats? Will they now take over our banking system or provide federally issued housing for every American? It seems that Obama has taken the words of Rahm Emmanuel to heart, “let’s not waste a good crisis”. Instead of letting market forces work which undoubtedly would have been painful for a few he would rather force unsound solutions and cause pain for us all.
It’s only been a short month and you can already hear grumblings across the fruited plains. People don’t like what they’re getting from our new leader and they are a slight wistful for the comfort and stability that came from one of our greatest leaders, George W. Bush.
Let us know what you’re thinking in our comment section, we’d love to hear from you.
We miss you ‘W’.
Cowards can never be moral
In light of Eric Holders recent comments on race relations in our country, he would have us to believe that we are all racists. Well he couldn’t come right out and say this; instead he called us “a nation of cowards” because we don’t live up to certain standards which he’s deemed the bench mark. Gandi said ” Cowards can never be moral” so I guess he’s thrown that dart as well. Apparently white people don’t have enough friends. More specifically, enough ‘black’ friends. Sure our work places are integrated as he states but in our private lives we are still segregated. Holder say’s his words were inspired from an Obama speech on race relations last year. That speech was in relation to the big dust up over Rev.Wright and Obama’s slick intent to try and distance himself from the potty mouthed preacher. Obama’s unifier speech I think came later, it’s hard to keep them straight.
Has Mr. Holder looked into the mirror lately? He’s black. His new boss who IS The President of the United States, also black. How could this happen in such a racists world? Those Diebold machines must have really screwed up this time. Perhaps Mr. Holder, Attorney General of the United States of America should look at this a little differently. Maybe he should be more thankful for how far as a society we’ve come.
Look, our wonderful country is just an infant as countries go. A little over 230 years old and yes we’ve had racism for many of those
Now I’m not comparing President Bush to anyone in history but since this blog is called thankw perhaps Mr. Holder might want to look back and see how Bush helped advance both individuals of color and indeed entire nations of people who’s skin was different then his. After all it was just a month ago so even his narrow mind should be able to grasp it.
First, President Bush benefitted more black children than any other president. With ‘no child left behind’ schools were finally held to standards in inner cities and test scores actually rose. He spent more on education in 3 years than Clinton did in all 8 of his administration. He increased funding for
black colleges by more than 30 %. School vouchers also allowed black children to attend private schools not available to them before. Over 1000 in D.C. alone from 2001 to 2004. Bush also appointed several key cabinet posts to men and women of color. Condoleezza Rice was the nations first woman to hold the position of National Security Advisor, first woman and yes she’s black but not the first black to hold the position. That was none other than Colin Powell appointed by the Reagan administration and retained by Bush. Rice was moved up later by Bush to Secretary of State. The first black Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court appointed by Bush, Clarence Thomas also a man of color. Mike Steele Maryland Lt. Governor and a black man was the campaign advisor for Bush/Cheney 2004 and where is he now? First black head of GOP.
Perhaps Bush’s greatest legacy for blacks is that he single
handedly saved 10’s of millions of predominantly black peoples lives in Africa. His tireless efforts to give aid support and money have directly and undisputedly brought these results. No other man in history has even come close. So the next time Mr. Holder you wish to lump all of the people who are not black together as ‘cowards’ and have us all to believe that our country is stuck in some racists malaise try to remember this quote from George W. Bush and then be thankful.
There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be cured by what is right with America.”
Obama Alone
Normally when it comes to signing a bill, it’s somewhat of a get together. All supporting congressional and senate members usually meet in the rose garden to witness the signing and to share the credit in what they all just passed.
For yesterdays stimulus plan, there was no party, no congressional or senate members, just Obama and his sidekick.
Obama alone obviously wants FULL credit for this stimulus.
So FULL credit he will get for 4 years? No, I wish we could get off that easy. Failed leadership comes with consequences, it’s been that way forever. My guess is we’ll be dealing with this for 40 years.
DOW down 293 points after the signing?
Boy do I miss President Bush
Thank you President Bush
Capitalism! Socialism? Communism?

The cover of NewsWeek shows it best, however Glen Beck says it best. Is this the start of socialism in america?
This would have never happened under the watchful eyes of W. Give it time, Thank you President Bush will become a household phrase.
There are three possibilities: Capitalism, Socialism, & Communism
Which will happen?
Thank You President Bush
Bring your toothbrush
“We will stay on this floor until we get it done” Senate President Steinberg said on Monday. The California Senate remains just one republican vote short of passing a new budget attempting to solve their 40 billion dollar budget gap.
The democrats argue that 20,000 layoffs will occur if not passed.
While the republicans argue they (the democrats) should not pad peoples pocketbooks to fuel spending.
With the Senate on lock down and Steinberg (a democrat) threatening. “Bring your toothbrush” this seems like a hostile attempt for the democrats to get their way.
I’m proud of the republicans for standing their ground and staying strong.
I can hear W uttering words of encouragement to our battling republicans. Hang in there!
Obama’s cabinet is looking pretty bare
With the sudden withdrawl of commerce secretary Judd Gregg, Obama is running out of options.
Bill Richardson
Tom Daschle
Nancy Killefer
Judd Gregg
Timothy Geithner Timothy Geithner?

Maybe we’re missing something but it’s certainly a CHANGE.

When things look dim it’s time we say Thank you President Bush
